    Our Privacy Commitment

    At Gifur, we believe your files are your business. That's why we've built our tools to process everything directly in your browser. Your images, videos, and GIFs never leave your device.

    No File Uploads

    Unlike traditional online tools, Gifur uses WebAssembly technology (FFmpeg.wasm) to process your media files entirely on your device. This means:

    • Your files are never uploaded to our servers
    • We cannot see, access, or store your media content
    • Processing happens locally using your device's computing power
    • Your files remain completely private

    Information We Collect

    We collect minimal, anonymous data to improve our service:

    • Usage Analytics: Anonymous page views and feature usage to understand which tools are most helpful
    • Error Reports: Anonymous error logs to fix bugs and improve reliability
    • Browser Information: Browser type and version to ensure compatibility

    We do not collect personal information, email addresses, or any data that could identify you.

    Cookies

    We use a small number of cookies and similar storage for:

    • Remembering your settings between visits (theme, last-used tool options)
    • Anonymous analytics, only after you accept the cookie banner
    • Advertising cookies set by Google AdSense and its partners (see below)

    We don't sell your data. You can clear cookies any time from your browser settings.

    Advertising (Google AdSense)

    Gifur is free to use. To keep it that way, we show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to Gifur and other sites. This may include the use of the DoubleClick DART cookie.

    • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
    • You can opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalised ads at aboutads.info.
    • EEA, UK and Swiss users see a consent prompt for ad personalisation under Google's EU User Consent Policy.

    Ads are served by Google. Gifur does not control which ads appear and does not share your media files with any advertiser — your uploads stay in your browser.

    Third-Party Services

    We rely on a few third-party services to run the site:

    • Google AdSense: Serves the ads that fund the site (see section above).
    • Google Analytics: Anonymous, aggregate usage data — only after you accept the cookie banner.
    • CDN providers: Deliver static assets (JavaScript, fonts, images).
    • Hugging Face / jsDelivr: Hosts the AI background-removal model, downloaded directly to your browser and cached locally.

    Data Security

    Since your files never leave your device, there's no risk of data breach from our side. Your media remains as secure as your local device.

    Children's Privacy

    Gifur is a general-purpose tool that does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us.

    Changes to This Policy

    We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
